Tuesday was busy for Company 11. Starting at 9:18 Am, company 11 was alerted for Wires Down on Dargan Rd, Brush 11 handled the call. Followed by another wires call on Hoffmaster Rd at 10:44 AM but this time the wires were down on a Propane Truck. Brush 11 and Engine 11-2 handled the call.
Finally at 4:39 PM, ATV 11 was requested by Chief 1 (Sharpsburg Fire) to assist with an Injured Person from a Fall out of a Tree Stand off Of Shepherdstown Pike.
Units from Company 1 & 19 (Sharpsburg Fire, EMS) arrived to find an adult man who had fallen out of a Tree Stand back in a corn field. Chief 1 requested ATV and Gator 8 to assist. Medics from Company 19 accessed the Patient and requested Aviation. Trooper 3 (Maryland State Police Aviation-Frederick Barrack) were alerted to assist.
ATV with Support 11-7 responded with 2 personnal along with Chief 11 while 3 additional personnel stayed back at station 11 to handle any additional calls for service.
ATV 11 arrived and deployed into the field with additional personnel and EMS Equipment. Upon arrival of Gator 8, Gator 8 was deployed into the field with additional Manpower.
The patient was safely removed from the field by ATV 11 and Gator 8 where the Patient transported to the Landing Zone (LZ).
The Patient was loaded onto Trooper 3 and transported to a local Trauma Center.
