Let’s talk numbers!!!
When requesting a 911 service to your home fire and EMS know that it’s an emergent situation. But what happens when they can’t find you?
Below is a picture of a mailbox as an example. There are a few common things that we come across that can be easily fixed for little to no money.
⁃ You have numbers on your mailbox but your flowers have over grown it.
⁃ You have those tiny little numbers that are not visible from the road on a good day, let alone in any kind of weather.
⁃ The most common problem is faded numbers, or missing peeled off numbers
⁃ Obviously the worst is having no numbers at all.
You can see in the picture that this homeowner realized that their address could not be seen. They have replaced it with large, reflective visible numbers.
We are asking that everyone go outside at some point this week in the evening and see if your address is visible. Can Fire and EMS see your mailbox numbers and/or house number? If not, we urge you to fix it so we can find you when you need us the most.
