On Wednesday afternoon (2:14 PM) company 11 was alerted to assist Frederick County MD on the 2nd Alarm fire in Brunswick.
Support 11-7 & Engine 11-2 (8 personnel) responded . Shortly after arriving the crew was sent into the “C” (Charlie) exposure structure which was also on fire. During the Interior Fire Attack, crews were evacuated from the structure do to heavy fire conditions and sagging roof. At this time Command requested a 3rd Alarm bringing additional personnel to the scene due to having 2 structures on fire and the high hot weather conditions.
After evaluating, the crew assisted with Exterior Fire Attack ( Defensive Attack) and then reported to rehab. After Rehabbing, switching out SCBAs the crew reported to stagging for reassignment. Thankfully with additional personnel on scene (3rd alarm) and all crew having gone through Rehab and reassigned, 2 hours after the first 911 call the fire was out and crews began Overhaul Operations . Shortly before 5:30 Command released units from the 2nd & 3rd Alarm that were in Stagging and not currently assigned a task. As Support 11-7 & Engine 11-2 were clearing the scene, company 11 was alerted for a 1st due Water Rescue on the Potomac River where Support 11-7 & Engine 11-2 responded to assist.
