Busy Evening for Station 11

At 6:36 PM  as members were gathering for the monthly membership meeting,  Company 11 was alerted for a PI (Personnel Injury Collision) on Route 340 at Route 67. Units from Frederick County arrived first and held Frederick Rescue Engine 5-2 and Ambulance 197 (Brunswick), placing Engine 11-2 and the Rescue Squad inservice.

As Engine 11-2 was returning to the station and just a mile out, Company 11 and 8 (Boonsboro-Rohrersville) were alerted for an Outside Fire on the C&O Towpath in the area of Keep Tryst Rd. Having additional staff in station Engine 11-2 continued back to the station to assist in getting additional units out. Brush 11 (Crew of 2), Support 11-7 w ATV and UTV 11 (Crew of 4) responded. Brush 11 and Engine 81 (Boonsboro-Rohrersville)  arrived simultaneously.  Brush 11 accessed the Towpath to find a large pile of trash from the holiday weekend on fire. Crews from Company 11 and 8 extinguished the fire in under 5 minutes.  The Park Service was notified of the incident and units went in service.
