Chief’s Page

Welcome to the Potomac Valley Fire Company Website,

With this being my first time as fire chief, I would first like to thank Chief Otzelberger and the other chiefs that have been before me for the mentoring and leadership to progress the fire company into the future.  I hope I can lead the company as well as my predecessors.

My first priority is to make sure that the community we protect is protected.  As of now, we currently staff the station with our volunteers and with the assistance of a career firefighter 24/7/365 from the Washington County DES and the Washington County Commissioners.  With that being said, we are always looking into recruitment and retention of new volunteers.  We are a unique fire company with our area we serve.  We have a swift water rescue team and have to deal with inaccessible incidents on Maryland Heights and the Appalachian Trail.  If you would like join our family, please see the join now of our website or join us at our company meeting on the last Monday of the month @1900.

To provide the best service possible to the community, our volunteers train to the most updated standards and current best practice.  As you travel through the area that we serve, you may see us out crafting our skills.

Please look through the website and figure  out how you will fit into our firehouse family.  Whether it is running calls, assist with fundraising or even just supporting our company with donations or support of our fundraising efforts, there is a spot for you.  If you have any question, please feel to call the fire station and someone will hopefully answer your question.

Yours in Service,

Jeffrey Martin
