Injury on MD Heights

At 1351 hours (1:51PM) on March 3, Company 11 along with other companies from Washington, Frederick, and Jefferson Counties were alerted for an Inaccessible Incident on Maryland Heights for a reported ankle injury on the Overlook Trail. Support 11-0 (Chief 11), Car 11 (Deputy Chief 11), and Support 11-7 with ATV and UTV 11 responded on the call.

Upon arrival of units, Chief 11 established command and Deputy Chief 11 was assigned RECON. Company 11 units made patient contact and confirmed an ankle injury on the Overlook Trail. The decision was made that this would be a carry out of the patient. Gator 8 (Boonsboro Fire-Rohrersville Station) and ATV 69 (Boonsboro EMS) brought additional equipment and personnel up the mountain to assist with the carry out. The patient was then loaded up in a stokes basket and the journey up the trail started. Once crews made it back to the ATVs, the patient was loaded up and taken to EMS crews awaiting for further evaluation and transportation to the hospital. #boatsandhose #riverandtrails
